Cookie & Trackers Policy
Last updated: July 2026
This Cookie and Trackers Policy describes how joinmaitrip.com and the Mai Trip mobile app use cookies and similar technologies to ensure proper service functionality, in compliance with the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and GDPR guidelines.
1. What are Cookies and Tracking Technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when visiting websites. They allow websites to remember user preferences (such as language or login state) so you don't have to re-enter them on each visit.
In addition to web cookies, the Mai Trip mobile application uses similar technologies such as LocalStorage, Keychain (for secure token storage), and device SDK identifiers.
2. Types of Cookies and Trackers Used
a) Strictly Necessary Technical Cookies (Consent Exempt)
These cookies are essential for the operation of the website and app. They do not require prior consent under the ePrivacy Directive.
firebase:authUser - Stores user authentication state to keep you logged in securely.i18nextLng - Stores your preferred language (Italian, English, Spanish, French).
b) Mobile Identifiers & Ad SDKs (Google AdMob)
In the free mobile version, Mai Trip integrates Google AdMob SDK to serve advertisements supporting the free app.
Processing of device advertising identifiers (IDFA on iOS, GAID on Android) occurs EXCLUSIVELY with your prior explicit consent requested via the GDPR CMP consent banner and App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt on iOS.
Premium users and users who opt out of personalized tracking will not receive targeted ads.
3. How to Manage and Disable Cookies
Web Cookie Management: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. However, disabling essential technical cookies may break authentication on joinmaitrip.com.
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and site data.
- Apple Safari: Settings > Privacy > Block all cookies.
- Mozilla Firefox: Options > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data.
