Terms of Service
Last updated: July 2026
Welcome to Mai Trip! These Terms of Service ('Terms') govern your access to and use of the Mai Trip mobile application and website joinmaitrip.com (collectively, the 'Service'). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Account Registration and Eligibility
To access most features of Mai Trip, you must create an account. You agree to provide truthful and accurate information during registration.
Age Requirement: The Service is intended for users who are at least 16 years old (or the legal age in your jurisdiction). Users under the required age may not create an account.
Credential Security: You are solely responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activities that occur under your account.
2. Description of Service Features
Mai Trip provides a collaborative platform for travelers including:
- Trip planning and itinerary generation using Artificial Intelligence models.
- Tracking and calculation of shared group expenses ('Split Expenses').
- Token purchase and subscription options to unlock premium features.
3. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer (AI Disclaimer)
Itineraries, stops, restaurant recommendations, attractions, estimated costs, and operating hours generated by Artificial Intelligence (Google Gemini) are produced automatically by machine learning algorithms for purely informational and entertainment purposes.
Mai Trip IS NOT a travel agency, official tour guide, or certified travel advisor. AI may occasionally produce inaccurate information, outdated hours, wrong prices, or closed venues.
You are solely responsible for independently verifying information accuracy, opening hours, ticket costs, passport/visa requirements, weather, and venue safety before traveling.
4. Shared Expenses Disclaimer (Financial & Expense Tracking Disclaimer)
The 'Split Expenses' feature in Mai Trip is a simple mathematical calculation tool to help groups of friends track 'who paid what'.
MAI TRIP IS NOT A BANK, PAYMENT INSTITUTION, OR FINANCIAL INTERMEDIARY. MAI TRIP DOES NOT HOLD FUNDS, TRANSFER MONEY, OR PROCESS REAL FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS BETWEEN USERS.
Settlement of debts or credits occurs exclusively and independently between users outside the Service. Mai Trip is not responsible for unpaid debts, financial disputes, calculation errors, or disagreements between group members.
5. Tokens, Subscriptions, and In-App Purchases
Certain features require Tokens or a Premium subscription. Purchases are processed directly through official stores (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) managed technically by RevenueCat.
Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumer Directive): Digital token or subscription delivery begins immediately upon purchase. You acknowledge and accept that once delivery begins or tokens are used, the 14-day right of withdrawal for the consumed portion expires. Refund requests must be directed to Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
6. Intellectual Property & User License
All original content of the Service, including trademarks, logos, source code, graphic design, and algorithms, is the exclusive property of Mai Trip protected by intellectual property laws.
You grant Mai Trip a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and process your uploaded content (e.g. itineraries, photos) solely to provide the Service.
7. User Conduct and Restrictions
You agree not to use Mai Trip to:
- Engage in unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious activities.
- Upload offensive, defamatory, or harmful content.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape code or data.
- Attempt to bypass Token limits or gain unauthorized server access.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights (EU Consumer Code), Mai Trip is provided 'as is' and 'as available'. Mai Trip shall not be liable for direct or indirect damages, data loss, or service interruptions.
9. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after updated Terms are published constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by Italian law. If you are a consumer residing in the EU, mandatory consumer protection laws apply, and the competent court will be your place of residence.
